A return customer texted me this morning regarding a scooter delivery! He needed a scooter transported from East Vancouver to Downtown. He did not have insurance on it and was uncomfortable riding it without a tune-up since it had been sitting for over a year. Initially he wanted to do it at 11:00am but I was pretty messed up from the previous night and couldn’t get back to him soon enough to confirm that time. I called him later that morning and we set it up for the 2:30pm. When I got there I backed my truck up to a sloped curb so my tailgate was flush with the road and we rolled the bike into my truck. I was a little scared of the bike falling over so I went a little nuts with straps. Better safe than sorry! In Downtown we used a piece of plywood as a ramp and carefully rolled it off my truck which seemed to work pretty good. The bike was only 50cc so we probably could have lifted it off of my truck but I didn’t want to chance it. I don’t know what kinds of stress the bikes frame is designed to handle and it wasn’t my bike either! Overall everything went smooth considering this was the first time delivering a scooter. I charged him $40.
