Another rainy day in Vancouver! This was my first time doing a delivery at the Vancouver Convention Centre. I was hired by an event company to deliver some pillar decorations for the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival that was taking place from March 28 to April 3. 10 decorative pillars had to be brought over from the West building to the East building. I got to the West building loading zone entrance around 9:45am on Friday morning where I got stopped by security. The guy took down all my information and questioned me about my business there. After some initial confusion on exact details we got everything sorted out and I got okay’ed to enter. There were 10 pillars total that had to be transported. The pillars themselve were very light but extremely bulky so it took 2 trips to transport everything. Because everything was very well organized the job only took about 30 minutes. And by the end of it all even the security guy started to come around and become more friendly! I charged the company $40.
