Yard Waste Removal in East Vancouver

I received a call yesterday regarding the removal of some small tree branches. The person had already made arrangements to have the heavier firewood taken away and needed me to get rid of the small leftover branches and yard trimmings. I told him I charge based on weight so it would be cheaper for him if he could give away as much of the heavy stuff as possible. We set it up for the next day at 3:00pm so he could give people as much time as possible to take away whatever they wanted. He needed some extra time that day so instead I showed up at his house in East Vancouver around 3:30pm. He had 3 piles of yard debris going. First I started with the cherry and fern branches/trimmings at the front of his house. He gave me a hand to load the branches into my truck. It took us less than 10 minutes to load everything from the front. Then I drove around to the back of the house. At the back we quickly loaded all the fir trimmings into my truck. Then I freed up some space by pushing all the yard waste to the back of my truck and weighing everything down using some of the heavier branches. Lastly, we dragged out the longer odd shaped branches from his back yard and loaded them into my truck. Some of the branches partially stuck out past my tail gate so I secured them properly with some rope so nothing would fall out. All in all it took us around 30 minutes to load everything and he paid me $140. I disposed of all the yard waste, the branches and trimmings at the Vancouver South Transfer Station, Recycling Depot & Yard Trimmings Drop-off located at 377 West Kent Avenue North in Vancouver. According to their scale the total weight of all the yard waste was 500kg or 1100lbs.
