Today I received a call from 2 people regarding my furniture removal services. The first person was located in Kitsilano and needed a desk and 2 chairs disposed of. The second person was located in Downtown Vancouver and needed a double sized mattress and dismantled IKEA bed frame gotten rid of. I set them up for 5 and 5:30pm. I got to the Kitsilano location around 5 o’clock. The furniture was just coming down the elevator when I got there. I loaded the desk and 2 chairs into my truck and she paid me $70. After that I headed over to my next job in Downtown. Straight up Burrard and left on Alberni. The traffic was very good so I got there ahead of time. They had everything outside at the front entrance when I showed up. The guy gave me a hand to load everything into my truck. He had a mattress, 5/6 pieces from the dismantled IKEA bed frame and the slats. It took us less than 2 minutes to load everything into my truck and he paid me $90. The furniture was is pretty rough shape and not salvageable or recyclable so I disposed of everything at the Vancouver South Transfer Station located at 377 West Kent Avenue North in Vancouver. Everything went pretty much according to plan until I got to the Transfer Station. The Vancouver Transfer station was completely jammed up and the line-up was spilling onto the road. It turned out to be a solid 45 minute wait. I don’t think I would have survived without my phone! Other than the delay at the transfer station, pretty much everything else went very smooth.
